Tindro

Inventory management for Philippine small businesses

Stock counts stay accurate only when every movement is recorded as it happens. Here is where counts usually go wrong, and how Tindro keeps them right.

Where counts go wrong

Manual stock records drift for ordinary reasons: a sale recorded but not deducted, a delivery received while the person who updates the sheet is away, damaged goods discarded without a note. Each gap is small, and the cumulative effect is a figure nobody trusts.

How Tindro records stock

  • One movement record per change. Quantity before, quantity after, the user, the time and the reason, for sales, refunds, deliveries, transfers and adjustments.
  • Stock comes off with the sale. The sale and the stock change are saved together, so they can never disagree.Stock and the sale are written in a single transaction, so a failure part-way cannot leave them disagreeing.
  • No double-selling the last one. If two cashiers sell the last unit at the same moment, one sale goes through and the other is told how many are left. Two terminals selling the same product queue on the stock row. One completes; the other is refused with the quantity available.
  • Negative stock refused by default. Configurable per business, but the default prevents selling below zero.
  • Cost set on receipt. Receiving a purchase order writes the unit cost paid onto the product, so margin figures follow what was actually paid.
  • Stock held per branch. Even with one location, so adding a second branch later does not change existing history.

Valuation

The valuation report shows stock at cost and at retail, broken down by category, together with the products that have had no sales in the last 30 days and the capital held in them.

Questions

Can a physical count be entered?

Yes. Enter the counted figure and the difference is recorded as an adjustment with a reason, rather than overwriting the previous number silently.

What about products with no stock, like services?

Stock tracking can be switched off per product. Those products sell without affecting any count.

Can stock be moved between branches?

With the multi-branch module. Both branches receive a movement record, so transfers reconcile.

Are batches and expiry dates supported?

No. Tindro tracks quantity per product per branch, not individual batches or lot numbers.

Is there a bulk import?

Not automatically yet. Send us your product list as a spreadsheet and we will help you get it in.
